Announcing an Exciting New Partnership for Maine High School Students Toward Healthcare Careers!

We’re excited to announce a new partnership for #Maine high school students with Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC), Northern Light Health, United Technologies Center and Hancock County Technical Center!

This new Nursing Pathway creates opportunities for high school students to earn dual-enrollment college credit and seamless entry into EMCC’s RN program. After high school graduation, students on this new partnership program can earn their RN certification in just two years.

The program features paid internships to gain practical experience and our proven mentorship program to help students build collegiate and employable skills.

”These are the type of partnerships that will ensure Maine students are prepared for great jobs without amassing lots of student debt” said Brian Langley, executive director of Bridge Academy Maine.  “At a time where Maine is suffering from a shortage of nurses, this partnership will provide a desperately needed pipeline of skilled nurses.”

Dawn Mitchell, RN, and Health Occupations Instructor said, “This dual/concurrent enrollment program allows students to earn college credit prior to high school graduation. College level courses are taught at UTC by instructors approved by the college.”

EMCC’s Nursing program is ranked #1 in Maine thanks to the program’s 100% NCLEX pass rate and 100% job placement over the last three years.

Students and parents interested in learning more about this exciting pathway can contact Amanda Peterson at UTC: [email protected].

We’ll be joining all partners in a celebration later this month. Stay tuned!
